Palate Restaurant

In 2015 Palate celebrates ten years since the restaurant first opened. Head chef and owner Mat McLean and his team deliver one of the best food and wine experiences in the Waikato. Located beside the river in the heart of Hamilton the spacious, monochromatic, split-level restaurant provides the perfect setting for fresh, seasonal top quality produce matched to a stunning wine list. We visited Palate recently to try their Degustation. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the service was beyond excellent. The food was extremely well presented and delicious although being a large eater I was still a little hungry at the end. My favorite dish of the evening was the “Study of Granny Smith Apples” which was paired with a very nice dessert...

Cullens

At Cullens we only use naturally farmed foods, so the meals are as happy and healthy as can be. We use pork and bacon from Freedom Farm’s, Hawke’s Bay lamb, Mahi Farm eye fillet and free range chicken and eggs.

Masu

What an awesome place, from the moment you arrive you are treated incredibly well. Yesterday the top up of water and Tea was a little slow but if that’s the only negative I can come up with then you know things are great. The food tastes spectacular and I am always amazed by the flavors.
